Being a funeral celebrant that is new to the industry can be difficult. I thought long and hard about being a celebrant and it is something that I went into with my eyes wide open.
During my training I was told that it would take time to build up the business and had advice and tips on how to build up my reputation. Having been in business before I thought I would find it a bit easier but starting a business, no matter what area it is in, is difficult. There are amazing celebrants out there that funeral directors are using and more than happy with them. So how can I needle my way in and become a recognised quality celebrant?
These are the things I have done so far:
- Visited Funeral Directors and introduced myself.
- Given out my business cards.
- Had a website built.
- Created a social media presence.
This has created some business which is amazing, but it is now up to me to continue to contact funeral directors, let them know that I am still here and able to work. I now have experience I can let them know about such as:
- Chapel services.
- Chapel and burial.
- Graveside services.
- Baby funerals.
- Memorials
- Services at 4 crematoriums in Leicester.
This is all great experience to carry forward and let funeral directors know about.
Starting a business is not easy but I have the courage and passion to make it work and will do my very best to deliver a fabulous service at all times.
